Freya and Freyashawk

So many players are asking about the Character of Freya in Grand Bazaar and my own name. I have been writing strategy guides under the name of Freyashawk for a number of years and my Character in any Harvest Moon or Rune Factory game always has been Freya (if female) and Freyr or Frey (if male) whenever one is not allowed enough letters to name a Character Freyashawk.

Natsume did promise to name a Character after me. Whether or not the new Character in Grand Bazaar was named with me in mind or not, I cannot say as I didn't produce the game!

Mind you, in my first Grand Bazaar file, I named my Girl Character Freya as usual and then had a confusing situation where the small village of Zephyr Town had TWO girls named Freya!

  1. Heh, same here, I named my male character Kevin, and yup, I got confused when I saw the kid.

  2. I gotta admit, part of why I chose to court Freya was out of respect to you. :))

  4. When I saw that this one had a Freya, I just figured they had to have named it after you-- so awesome, I'd love to have my own NPC named for me in any of my favorite series! (I have heard of developers doing that sort of thing... I think Sacred 2's developers made reference to people on their message boards in the game) Anyways, I WAS curious how much say you had as to her design and personality, but sounds like you had no input-- though, I think they did a great job with her, she is very easy to like.

  5. Haha I love your guides and when I saw her I thought of you too! Wow, that would be really cool if she was named for you :) She's actually the girl I like the best in the game so far too (if playing as a boy LOL)!
